National Blood Services competed in the 1st South East Asia

"VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION WE CAN DO"

As a region, regardless of creed, race, political affiliation or religious belief, we have one blood that we can share… We have one goal – to show humanity amidst inhumanity. With the unwavering and continuous efforts in part of all the National Societies, we can achieve 100% Voluntary Blood Donation. As an instrument of change, it is in our hands that lies the power for dynamic transformation of events in our lives catapulting voluntary blood donation as a way of life

"Giving is sharing a part of yourself… to be a part of somebody else… or SELFLESSNESS to give and not to count the cost, to fight and not to heed the wounds, to toil and not to seek for rest, to labour and not to ask for any reward save that of knowing that we do Thy will.”

The Red Cross aims to make a difference by alleviating human sufferings. Through altruistic act of donating blood, not only do we save lives of people who need us in their most vulnerable point but we also show them what the power of humanity can do. Dramatically changing their lives and their loved ones as well… giving them another opportunity to celebrate their birthdays, to walk, laugh, and enjoy every precious moment that life has to offer. Donating blood isn’t just a personal decision … it’s our SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. With that responsibility engraved in our hearts, we will create a world that is a better place to live with.
Let’s join our hands and together - as a region, LETS ALL TAKE THAT BIG LEAP TOWARDS 1OO% VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION

In line with the celebration of the World Blood Donor Day on June 14, 2008, the South East Asian Region Red Cross/Red Crescent National Societies held its 1st Regional Banner Competition with the theme: “Voluntary Blood Donation… We can Do!” The winning banner of this competition will be used as the prototype design for the upcoming World Blood Donor Day collaterals for the South East Asia Region Red Cross/Red Crescent National Societies (Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia). The Philippine National Red Cross - National Blood Services proudly competed its two entries from the National Blood Center and the Davao City Red Cross Chapter. These two entries of the National Blood Services are the triumphed winners of the local PNRC Banner Competition held particularly for the South East Asian Regional Banner contest. This is just one of the advocacy strategies of the Philippines and the other South East Asian countries towards its main goal… 100% Voluntary Blood Donation Nation by 2010.
